A Letter for Perfectionists
If you have been feeling unsettled, scattered, insecure, rushed, or just generally off track… I have been thinking about these energetic themes lately, and the inevitable seeking that many spiritually-focused people feel for the land of great ease, fulfillment, and perfection.
To put it bluntly.. I invite you to shift your expectations, and perceptions. To remember that the terrain of earth is not all smooth… yet it's still aligned with a higher order, organization, and wholeness. Reclaim the narrative that everything has to be perfect, in order to be right. That if it doesn't go as expected, it must be wrong.
Life is too short to be so hard on yourself, and dissect every action of yours.
One thing I have found by being very personally interwoven myself/ working in the spiritual wellness + mental health fields is that those most drawn to self-evolution, are typically also weighed down by the feeling that nothing they do is ever good enough. I speak to it clearly because it is something I experience, and move through often. I must say, each time I get a bit better at it ;)
PROMPTS FOR REFLECTION
Some questions to consider when feeling overwhelmed, insecure, or inadequate:
With your gift of imagination… are you imagining the very best case scenarios as possible too, or just the worst cases?
Do you spend a lot of time thinking about the lives, experiences, actions, and potential perceptions that others hold about you? If the answer is yes, what is one simple way that you can funnel that energy and focus back to yourself?
How can you let life steer you into new directions and opportunities, rather than your own version of how it "should be" going, or what you “should be” doing?
You may be the one holding the reigns, in control of where the carriage is headed.. but there is also a wild horse in charge, with its own divine spontaneity and direction.
